Care & Maintenance

NATUAL STONE CARE & MAINTENANCE

What is Natural Stone?

Natural stone is a premium building material that has been used for thousands of years to enhance both structural and decorative designs. Quarried from the earth, these high-quality materials—such as granite, marble, and quartzite—are carefully selected for their durability, elegance, and unique character.

Unlike manufactured alternatives, natural stone offers one-of-a-kind variations in composition, color, and texture, ensuring that no two pieces are exactly alike. This distinctiveness allows for stunning, custom designs that bring sophistication and lasting value to any space.

What are care and maintenance of the stone products are recommended?

Stone countertops are incredibly easy to maintain with the right care. To keep them looking their best, clean surfaces with warm water and a mild, pH-neutral liquid soap. Avoid using acidic cleaners or abrasive chemicals, as they can damage the stone’s surface.

For long-term durability, natural stone should be sealed after installation and resealed periodically based on usage. Proper sealing helps protect against stains and preserves the stone’s natural beauty for years to come.

What is an impregnator sealer? How does it help stone?

Impregnator sealer is a specialized protective treatment designed to enhance the durability of natural stone. It consists of microscopic silicone particles that penetrate deep into the stone’s crevices, bonding permanently to create a waterproof shield. This invisible barrier helps prevent moisture absorption, stains, and damage while preserving the stone’s natural appearance and longevity.

How often should a sealer be applied?

For optimal protection, 2 to 3 coats of impregnator sealer should be applied when treating natural stone for the first time. After the initial application, additional sealing should be done periodically based on the stone’s exposure to foot traffic, moisture, and daily use. Regular reapplication ensures long-lasting protection, preventing stains and maintaining the stone’s natural beauty over time.

Using cleaning products on Natural stone

Before applying an impregnator sealer to your entire project, always conduct a trial on a small, isolated area. This allows you to ensure the desired results and verify compatibility with the stone. Additionally, be sure to follow the manufacturer’s instructions carefully for best performance and long-lasting protection.

CABINET CARE & MAINTENANCE

  • Prevent Moisture Damage: Avoid direct contact with moisture. If water or spills occur, wipe them dry immediately. Prolonged exposure to moisture can cause warping and damage to cabinet doors, drawers, and finishes. Never hang wet towels on cabinet surfaces.

  • Cleaning & Maintenance: Use a soft, lint-free cloth dampened with water to clean cabinets, then immediately dry with a separate lint-free cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners, harsh chemicals, ammonia-based solutions, or scouring pads, as they can strip the finish and damage the wood. For grease or oil buildup, use a mild soap diluted according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

  • Climate Control: Maintain proper indoor humidity levels to prevent wood expansion, contraction, or warping. Sudden changes in temperature and humidity can affect cabinet integrity over time.

  • Prevent Physical Damage: Do not allow children to swing on cabinet doors or use drawers as steps. Excessive weight or misuse can cause hinges to bend or drawers to malfunction.
